You are not alone if you feel the anxiety, and keep drinking.
Katy Graczer can talk from experience, she went from party girl to alcohol-free 4 years ago. “Drinking was wrapped up in my identity. Margarita’s and champagne were my thing. I had to relearn everything”.
She shares her tips.
Neither are you alone if you:
Use alcohol as a crutch
Have a drink because ‘I deserve it’
Drink, and make a fool of yourself
Drink, and feel anxiety the next day
But keep on going
Play it Forward.
Think ahead. If you’re going to drink, you know you will feel awful tomorrow. You will lose a day, you will eat crap food, not exercise, be snappy with your loved ones. A moment to think, is it worth it?

2. Avoid or leave early.
In the early stages, avoiding occasions where there will be a lot of drinking and temptation could be best.
Otherwise, leave early.
3. PLAN PLAN PLAN
Plan ahead. Check restaurants have booze free options, offer to be a designated driver.
Inform hosts you’re likely to leave early and take your own alcohol drinks. Otherwise you could end up with water or coke.

4. Cravings
Cold showers really help. For the more courageous try cold water swimming air ice baths.
Katy Graczer has more energy for work, fitness and family now.
5. Peer Pressure
You might feel the odd one out. If anyone asks why don’t you drink, ask them why they do! HAHA

6. Booze Free Firsts
Your first meal with friends, a night out, dinner party. They’re tricky, you need to be strong. The power you feel in yourself is unrivalled. Then comes the special occasions - weddings, holidays, birthday, a conference, Christmas.
Plan, prepare, remember how great you will feel tomorrow - and revel waking up with that clear head.
7. A reminder of why you’re doing it
The money you save! Put it towards a holiday.
Alcohol is a poison, there’s a reason it feels so bad, your body is saying NO
